The day costs in the table come from Ubud, the inland town our data covers, so compare them with where you mean to stay. A balanced day of meals and local transport is modest; the stay, the flights and the activities are what move the total.

Australians need a visa on arrival, paid on entry: the fee and the date we last checked it with the official source are in the visa box, and we check it again whenever the rules move. The most pleasant months run from April to October; January is the wettest month and August the driest.
